In July 2019, we collaborated with De Beers Group to complete the first half of the #MovingGiants Project which aims to move 200 Elephants out of Venetia Limpopo Nature Reserve, South Africa. To date, we have relocated 101 Elephants over 1700km to Zinave National Park, Mozambique – making this the longest elephant translocation ever attempted to date!

Venetia’s elephant population was 4 times greater than it’s carrying capacity, making this project vital to the long-term sustainability of the reserve. This translocation both reduces the pressure on Venetia’s resources, and significantly contributed to Zinave National Park’s growing elephant population.
